Customer Relationships That Keep Lifting: The Value of Being a Long-Term Crane Partner

September 16, 2026

An overhead crane is not the kind of purchase a company makes every day. It is a major investment that will impact how materials move, how employees work, and how efficiently a facility can operate for years to come.

That makes choosing the right crane partner especially important.

At MMI Hoist Systems, we want customers to walk away from every project feeling satisfied—not just with the equipment we installed, but also with the work we performed. There is no greater proof of that satisfaction than customers who bring us back for future projects.

When customers choose to work with us again and again, it tells us something important: We have earned their trust. We work hard to build and maintain a strong relationship with these customers, whether through future projects, expansions, repairs, relocations, or new challenges.

And these relationships connect directly to one of MMI’s core values: Happy.

Happy Customers Come Back

Every business depends on repeat customers, but in a specialized industry like overhead material handling, those relationships are especially meaningful.

Not every company needs a crane system, and those that do may go years between major projects. When a customer returns to MMI for another installation or update, it means our previous work made a lasting impression.

One of the clearest examples is MMI Hoist Systems’ relationship with Galleria of Stone.

MMI has worked with Galleria of Stone on crane projects dating back to 2015, with additional work in 2018, 2019, and now 2026. Most recently, the company contracted MMI to install another freestanding 5-ton bridge crane structure at its North Phoenix facility. MMI has also provided a 5-ton crane system for Galleria of Stone’s San Diego location, and the company recently requested quotes for two additional 5-ton cranes at a Northern California facility.

While we’re proud of the work we’ve completed for them, our history with the company matters more than any single project.

It shows what can happen when a customer finds a partner they know they can rely on.

Understanding the Customer’s Work

Strong customer relationships are built on more than delivering the equipment listed in a proposal. They require understanding how that equipment fits into the customer’s larger operation.

For Galleria of Stone, overhead cranes play an essential role in moving and displaying large, fragile, and expensive slabs of granite. The company’s crane systems allow employees to move those slabs safely and efficiently, while also making better use of valuable warehouse and showroom space.

The newest system includes a freestanding, 160-foot runway with a 47-foot, 5-ton-capacity bridge crane. By moving material overhead rather than relying exclusively on forklifts and the maneuvering space they require, Galleria of Stone can stack, organize, and display significantly more inventory within the same facility.

Even the appearance of the system reflects the customer’s needs. Because the cranes are prominently visible inside the showroom, the structures are painted white instead of the more traditional yellow.

Details like these are part of being a true long-term partner: understanding that the best crane solution is not simply one that works, but one that works for that particular customer.

Relationships Make the Work Better

At MMI, we deal with challenges every day. Projects change, problems arise, and schedules get complicated.

But Happy does not mean pretending that work is always easy. Instead, Happy is reflected in the way we treat the people we work with, no matter what challenges we face.

That means communicating clearly and answering questions patiently. It means doing your part and looking for ways to make someone’s job easier. It means respecting the customer’s operation, and being ready to help again when a customer comes back years later with another challenge.

Those same habits make work better for employees, too.

There is pride in knowing that something your team designed, fabricated, installed, or serviced continues to help a customer succeed years later. There is even more satisfaction when that customer trusts you enough to call again.

In that sense, long-term customer relationships become a reflection of the whole team—something everyone can share in.

More Than a Crane Company

A completed crane system may be the most visible result of a project, but the relationship behind it is just as important.

Customers remember. Did that company listen? Did they communicate? Did they follow through? Did their solutions actually make our operations better?

When we consistently show up in ways that create positive experiences for our customers, we become more than the company that installed a crane.

We become the company they call when they need the next one.

That is what being a long-term crane partner looks like—lifting everyone involved. And it is one more way MMI Hoist Systems works to improve lives and deliver value, year after year.
